| Reel 2 ReelHere are a couple of R2R's that I either own or have owned. The Otari (now gone) and the Pioneer. While I really liked the Otari, because of its physical size, the unit was regulated into storage. Now the Pioneer, while more of a consumer R2R, is in my audio rack and used considerable more often than the Otari.
The Pioneer did need some TLC. I blew out what looked like a 1/2 inch of dust from the insides. Both the rubber wheels were stuck and needed to be worked loose with oil and cleaning. The auto shutoff needed working loose. The heads needed cleaning. The entire face plate needed a good cleaning and so on.. R2R plays fine and sounds nice through my tube amp. :) |

| |  | Otari MX5050 B2HDI recently have gotten into clasical music and R2R. I picked this unit up locally and after some cleanup have been very happy with the result. I run the R2R through my 300B amps and Altec speakers. Very sweet!! |
